SYNERGIES OF MATERIAL AND DESIGN, INSPIRED BY COAST AND SKY.
Not every transformation needs its own personal, firmly marked bloodline. Sometimes the moment is enough. Often the intuition is enough. So Stephan Wembacher first designed skate shirts, later sleeves for Apple's first iPods with his company and at some point founded his own bag label with his partners. Three stops without ever stopping. Three steps of many on the way from the start to côte&ciel, the final one of which required one or the other coincidence: a customer of Stephan Wembacher's, for example, who would like to use some neoprene sleeve prototypes as promotional gifts.
Then there was the idea, already conceived at the time, of providing the fashion label of fashion designer Damir Doma with matching bags. Also a holiday in the South of France. There, Wembacher looked at nature. Côte - the coast - met Ciel - the sky. The label already had its name. And one that matched the foundation of the new brand. It was to bring together a love of design, a penchant for architecture and an appreciation of high-quality materials. There was no room for average quality. Not in the material. Not in the design. Synergy time. So material enthusiast Wembacher met a French fashion designer. The result: the first côte&ciels bags.
A promise to the penchant for individualism. Because the designs of the brand take their very own visual exit. Like small architectural works of art, côte&ciel accessories nestle against your back, hang neatly around your waist or protect your Macbook. The backpacks, cross-body bags, laptop sleeves and bags are meant to be functional, to stand out with clean yet individual lines without imposing themselves. Balance art of the first order. That's why designers and artists, stylists and engineers now meet in the côte&ciel office in Paris to tinker with ever new styles. The transformation is never completely finished.
FUNCTION X STYLE X CÔTE&CIEL
The material as a canvas for design and style is by no means enough. For côte&ciel products, it shapes the identity. Style and appearance are only one facet. Function is another. Without that, says co-founder Stephan Wembacher, everything is just a "gimmick". That's why the brand from Paris offers you waterproof bags, backpacks and laptop sleeves as well as elegant leather styles. côte&ciel articles always captivate with their flow of form, function and style. Style that softens the familiar and therefore sticks. In the memory. Never in the wardrobe. Because thanks to their robust materials, côte&ciel items are made for urban everyday life between the office, relaxed lunches and evenings with drinks over the rooftops of the city. And you have complete freedom of choice. Fine leather. Coated canvas. Denim. MemoryTech. Your preferences decide.
BACKPACK STYLES FOR MORE THAN ONE SEASON: CÔTE&CIEL
Material and design. Design and material. You can't have one without the other in the côte&ciel sale. Visually, the brand always goes its own way. The styles are meant to last, not just appear in the seasonal calendar for bag backpacks. Come to stay. The fashion mecca Paris as home naturally contributes to the realisation. The connection to designer Damir Doma also removes obstacles rather than builds them up. Again and again, architecture provides the inspiration. Clear lines dominate. Clean surfaces dominate. Added to this is function. Practically placed zips. Laptop bags. Compartments suitable for everyday use. This is how côte&ciel combines style and function in a relaxed way.
THE SLOPE TO THE RIVER - CÔTE&CIEL'S ISAR AND NILE
The river. It is not only reflected in the interplay of form and function. It also gives two of côte&ciel's most popular backpacks their names. Here the Isar, there the Nile. Two famous rivers (one even more so than the other). Two stylish backpacks for your way on the bike or on foot across the asphalt of your city. Zips and straps ensure a secure, yet practical closure. The label is discreetly applied to both models in the côte&ciel style of restraint and minimalism. Add to this clean lines and a light look towards the design future. Backpacks made for the city.
MINIMALIST STREET STYLE FROM PARIS
The discreet, yet characterful appearance leads you almost inevitably in the direction of streetwear. The cross-body bag with the hoodie. The backpack over the relaxed shirt. With the chino, the wide skirt. côte&ciel provides the perfect accessory. What's more, the brand's bags are designed to go perfectly with a more elegant coat or trench coat.
CLEAN ACCESSORY X CLEAN SNEAKER - OR PUMA RS-X
Every accessory calls for a matching shoe - whereby you can theoretically follow two signposts in the côte&ciel Shop at Keller x. Number one leads you to the contrast. A clean côte&ciel bag here, a striking sneaker like the Puma RS-X there. You can also add another component to the flow of the French brand: equally understated, minimalist and eco-friendly sneakers. To do so, simply reach for the Veja.
